Where in the world has the time gone?! However, I am very excited since October is one of my most favorite months, because to me October says, here come the Holidays, ready or not.
This past week has been a good one. School finally started back up. (Yay!) I am taking 16 credits this term with a Nutrition for Health class, Applied Linguistics, African American Literature, and Psychology of Decision Making. So far, it looks like this term is going to be a lot of studying/reading, and a ton of writing papers. Which is good in some ways, it means I don't have to take as many tests, so thats a plus. Daniel is taking... 14 credits this term? (His schedule is so crazy I can't even keep up.) With Physics and lab, Organic Chemistry lab, a Reading and Writing for the DAT class, and he's also a Chemistry work shop leader this term, which is very fancy. Things for him seem to be going pretty well too.

TOMORROW is the BIG DAY! Daniel takes his DAT, and the fate of the rest of our lives shall be known. Am I a little freaked out? Yes. It's like we'll really finally be grown ups. :) (Haha.)

I too have completed all of my tests... I even took an extra test that I didn't need to take. Which yes, was a waste of money. Story goes... I thought that I was signing up for the ORELA turns out there are several different ORELA tests, and you have to pay attention to what exactly you are signing up for. I studied for weeks on the ORELA multiple subjects test, and on September 22 I went to the testing site thinking that was the test I was about to take. I walked away feeling like that wasn't at all what I had studied for, and was really confused. When Daniel came home from work, we did some research and found out that we had in fact registered me for the wrong ORELA test. (Goodbye $300) So we had to emergency sign me up for the correct test which I took yesterday afternoon (another $300...) The cool thing is, I passed the ORELA Early Education test (the wrong test) with flying colors, and I didn't even study for the stupid thing. Apparently you need a 220 out of 300 to pass... and I got a 257, so that was like a confidence booster. Now I just have to hope that I passed the correct test too.

Yesterday the weather was amazing, reminded me how much I truly love fall, and why it is my most favorite season. Daniel and I decorated (sort of) for Halloween tonight. That was a fun bonding moment, even though it only took about 5 minutes. Haha.

Things to look forward to this week, my mothers birthday! Which is going to be fun, I'm just DYING to give her her birthday present early, but she just won't let me. Also, since her birthday falls on a Thursday, it means I get a day off of school :) I'm getting my hair done on Friday, which I am a little nervous for. I'm dying it a dark dark black, so we'll see how it turns out. I do have to work a lot this week, so I won't really get to see Daniel, but on the upside, I get to do onboard training at BBW with my cousin Amber, so that should be fun!

Last... I have found myself sucked in to this really interesting book as of late, Pride, Prejudice and Zombies... Great book. It is probably going to be one of my favorites when I am finished reading. Alright, I'll post tomorrow after D takes his test to let everyone know what our fate shall be.... EEK!

Oh one more thing, for Halloween this year Daniel and I have decided to go as Barbie and Ken! Way excited!

I passed my CBEST!

Things lately have been kind of hectic, I am getting ready to take my ORELA on Wednesday, and so for the last month (actually couple of months... more like ALL SUMMER) I have done nothing but study for both my CBEST and my ORELA. Exciting news, I passed my CBEST, which means that I am just one step closer to becoming a teacher :) So I apply for my Grad program Nov. 11, and hope to heavens that I pass my test this Wednesday, and that I get in to the program, which start in January.
A couple of weeks ago D and I were lucky enough to spend time with his family in Utah. Very fun! I had never met any of his step-siblings, and so if was very fun to meet them, and to be able to spend time with his family, getting to know them better. They are such good people, and I am thankful to be able to call them family. We were also able to spend time with my family as well, which was such a blessing. I haven't seen some of them in MONTHS and so it was really nice to be able to catch up. It just seems like everything is going well for them, which I am grateful for, and wish nothing but the best for them.

Daniel has moved his DAT to a couple weeks out. We both felt like this was such a good decision, since the past few weeks have been kind of crazy, and he hasn't really been able to study/practice the way he would like. I would rather him take the test feeling confident/ready then take the test and then need to take it again at a later time. We're really hoping that he does well (which means a 20 on the test) so that we can go to University of Washington, I think that we both have realized that this is the dental school that we want to get in to. All very exciting really.

Last... We have added a new member to our little family. Last Saturday, for D's bday/anniversary present we went and adopted a new puppy. He has been nothing but a joy over the last week, and we have had a lot of fun getting to know him. He is very small, an amazing escape artist, and can be quite a pest sometimes, but he's just so gosh darn cute! We have named him The General, and his two older siblings either enjoy having him around at times, or they find him extremely obnoxious. He's also VERY smart, training him has gone so much quicker with him than it did with Choxie, so that has been very nice.

School starts next week... sigh. I am looking forward to this term, but not at the same time. Daniel and I will be on very opposite schedules, so that will be kind of hard, but somehow we will make it work.

Why Rain?

I woke up today... to RAIN! I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. Kind of I'm excited for fall, and kind of I wish summer wasn't over yet. We have had such lame-o weather this summer.

This last week was rockin! I got to go on many new adventures. :)

Wednesday my good friend Julia and I decided that we wanted to go on a nature/photo shoot. So we met at Washington Square at 11 am, where we picked a walk in Portland out of a fancy book that Julia's mom had given her of all these fancy Portland walks. We chose to walk this 3 mile loop up around Multnomah Village and Gabriel Park. We left Washington Square and started our walk around 11:15 or so... I'm not quite sure what the two of us were thinking, it was HOT! And we got horribly lost, and so what should have been a 3 mile walk, turned into more miles, and extra hours. Yes of course we had a map, but little good that did us. We ended up halfway down Capital Highway,

It turned out to just be really funny by the end, because we were exhausted! Julia claims we bonded over sweat, and I agree.

Late that night, I was able to participate in my first night canoeing experience with Katie and her friends. It was crazy fun. At first I was a bit skeptical, since I had never been night canoeing. But Daniel and I ended up having a lot of fun.

The rest of the week was spent studying for both Daniel and I, for our upcoming tests. Sigh. I swear I can't WAIT to be graduated!

Just when things can't get crazier... They do.

So last week was kind of a hectic busy week. It doesn't even seem like everything that happened last week, could have possibly happened within a 7 day span.

Daniel's birthday party was on Monday, and it was a rockin success. We had his birthday in the park, potluck salad style. We played crazy little kid party games, gave away goodie bags, and spent time in really good company. It was fun! I was glad that he was able to have fun, and hang out with his friends. Afterwards, we talked a lot about how we should do picnics in the park as friends a little more often. Sometimes we forget that we all live so close to each other, since we are all so busy with life.

Thursday night we were able to catch up, and go out to dinner with my Grandmother. Which was wonderful. We went to Red Robin, and had a wonderful time just talking and spending the evening with her. We haven't seen her in a long time, so it was good for us to catch up. We got to hear all about her adventures these past couple months, and I tell you, that woman has a lot going on. Which is good, it makes her happy, and it keeps her busy.

Daniel took his final for his Organic Chemistry class, he passed the class with an A-, and we were VERY excited about that! Now all he has left to do is study for the DAT and hopefully do well on that in September. I too received my final grades for this term, I got an A in my senior capstone class, and a B in my sociology class, so I was very excited.

The rest of last week I spent studying for my CBEST exam, which I took on Friday. I wasn't very nervous before taking the test (which kind of alarmed me) but I walked out passing my reading with a 59 (you need a 41 to pass) and hopefully passing my writing (I find out on Sept 14, they have to read and go over it first) and not passing my math. Which is pretty much what I expected. I got a 37, not great but not awful... The nice part is I can take just the math part again, so I am planning on doing that Sept. 24, the day after I take my ORELA. Why not get as many tests out of the way as I can?

Last night I started my newest job. (YIKES!) My mother is one of the managers at Bath and Body Works, and so she came to me this week and asked if I would like to be part of a new team that she was putting together, since I have nothing else to do with my life, I said why not. (LoL.) Basically I get to come in on the nights when they are switching product around, rolling out new product, and changing merchandise. I also get to help move props, and product up at offsite. It was a lot of fun, since I had worked there for a brief stint before Daniel and I got married, it was fun to be back, and everyone was excited to have me.

I'm not sure what many adventures this week will hold, hopefully it will be just as exciting. Who knows... Maybe it will be a quiet week... HA!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://shoeaddictannoymous.blogspot.com/2010/08/just-when-things-cant-get-crazier-they.html' title='Just when things can't get crazier... I'm apparently really bad at this. Lets see, it's Friday, and it is a GORGEOUS day outside in sunny Oregon. Currently I am just sitting here, killing time (really I should be studying for my CBEST)
What is new with us... Finals are next week, I finish my senior capstone class (VERY exciting) and Daniel finished Organic Chemistry. Daniel turns 25 in 3 days... Yes, he is getting old. :) I take my CBEST August 20 (Yikes!) which is my first major teacher test. And then Daniel has his DAT test the same day that I have my last teacher test, the ORELA, on September 22. Things are really starting to happen for us and it's kind of scary.

We have decided that when Daniel applies for Dental school he will also be applying for the Air Force. All it means is that for every year he spends in Dental school, we owe back to the Air Force for paying for his education. (So 4 years of Dental school, means 4 years in the Air Force.) The nice thing is, we will walk away from Dental School debt free... So I guess I can't really complain. We have looked at places to go for school... (Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California, New York, South Carolina, Ohio) and we have also looked at different locations to be stationed, and they're mostly in Europe. (Germany, Italy, England) It's crazy that in two years, I'll be a licensed teacher with my Masters, and we will be heading off to wherever Daniel gets in for school.

Living in my parents house has been a blessing, and it has been a lot of fun so far. It's nice to be so close to family. We are getting ready to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, in Sept. It's crazy that it has been 3 years so far.. And other than that... Then in the middle of December Daniel and I moved into my parents house and rented out our house. It was a crazy couple of two weeks, but somehow we managed to move, get settled in, and have Christmas without going completely insane!

School started again in January, this year we weren't able to go to Hawaii with Daniel's family. School got off to a great start. Living with my parents has been great. My cousin got married at the beginning of the year, and Daniel and I were very lucky to be apart of it.

We're both really excited for what this year brings us. So far things are going great. (Until the Super bowl, and my freaking team lost... sigh... oh well GO COLTS!) Both of us are going to school full time, while working. Daniel is getting into tax season, so we'll see how that goes for him. I am currently working three jobs, DSW, teaching Dance at Buckman Elementary, and watching Iverson three days a week for my mother. (Who just got promoted to Co-manager at Bath and Body Works... YAY GO MOM!)

We don't really have big plans for this year, possibly a cruise in September, a trip to Mexico in June, and who knows, a couple trips to the beach. I am really looking forward to this summer since it'll be my first summer off of school in the last two years, and my last summer before my masters program. Very exciting! Daniel is planning on going to school this summer, so that should be kind of crazy, but at least he won't be in California ALL summer, so that's nice.

Yesterday we had a very wonderful Valentines day, Daniel surprised me with a FANTASTIC lunch from PF Changs, one of my most favorite restaurants, it was delicious. I have many other and exciting plans for the week, tomorrow is my birthday, and I am turning 23 (eek!) I also get to finally see my aunt, whom I haven't seen in FOREVER! I also get to have lunch with my grandmother, and a fun filled day with my mom. And dinner this week with some good friends, so it should be a pretty good week for us/me.

Okay I promise that I will get better at writing posts again. Since I have a little bit more free time, it should be much easier :)

Hotel California = Bullet in my head!

"Welcome to the Hotel California. Such a lovely place. Such a lovely face." And I shoot myself in the head. Last night Iverson wanted to play guitar hero. AWESOME! I love that game. So we played. Then it became not guitar hero, but Hotel California Hero because that's the ONLY song Iverson wanted to sing, or play. Eventually we got him interested in La Bamba... but that was a mistake as well. So then this morning, I'm cleaning the kitchen and all I hear is Iverson singing Hotel California OVER AND OVER AND OVER! Finally I couldn't take it anymore, and I told him that if he EVER wanted to come over to our house again, and that if he didn't want me to shoot the game or myself or him that he either better sing a different song, or he better turn it off.

Ahh... Peace and Quiet finally! Until we're sitting at breakfast, and when there's a break in conversation, Iverson sings at the top of his lungs (just to throughly annoy me) "WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA!" Oh f0r the love of pete make it stop!

Other than the obnoxiousness of his annoying singing of the worst song ever right now, we had a pretty good time with Iverson spending the night. Him and Daniel went to Albertson's picked up some donuts, a red box movie and some snacks. Then they came home and made dinner, ate, and played Wii together. (So CUTE!)

Then it was time to watch the movie. Now when I sent them to Red Box it was in hopes that they would bring home an awesome movie. HA! When they got there the new Spongebob movie that they wanted wasn't available (Hallelujah!) So they decided to go with UP (now why this wasn't there first choice is beyond me... It would have been mine, come on!) But that too was unavailable. So they went with their third and "best" choice. Batman and Superman, Public Enemies. WHAT?! Sigh. So I got stuck watching this really LAME-O superhero movie. (Rolls eyes.) But it was okay, because the commentary from the couch aka Iverson, was priceless.

So far the day is going well. I love day's off! I finally got all of my Halloween decorations organized and in their new home. I got the kitchen cleaned up. (Really I cleaned the kitchen because I was going to make pumpkin pancakes for my family... I was going to have them over for breakfast, but that didn't happen.) I started cleaning my room/closet, talk about a project. I just have some homework to finish up today (reading for sociology and finish my paper), work on my project for Buckman, and run some errands. PLUS I get to spend a lot of the day hanging out my husband, so that makes it all the more better.

Today (and last night) I am thankful for... Iverson, because as annoying as he is sometimes, he still makes me happy.

Today (and last night) Daniel is thankful for... A wife who likes to have fun

Today (and last night) Iverson is thankful... Ahhh Mondays.

Over the weekend we didn't really do much. I worked, Daniel helped a family move, we ate pizza from Garlic Jim's, went to Target, did some homework, went to church and took naps. Since I am the new CTR 5 teacher in our ward I have the roster for my new class coming in in a month already. 7 kids! (YIKES!) It's going to be a challenge, but one that I greatly look forward too. I miss having that many kids, and I miss some of my old kids as well.

Last Wednesday I went on a Field trip, and I wore rain boots (thinking the weather was going to be like it was today, crappy) and totally ruined my feet. Way! to much walking in shoes that are not so good for your feet. Still can't seem to get my feet to function properly. And you would think that because I work at a shoe store (and have worked in shoes for 2 years now) that I would know better... obviously not.

Last night I made the most AMAZING apple dessert. Talk about delicious! I took some over to my mom's house, and when I got home Daniel had eaten half the pan. He was having a really hard time last night studying. (Apparently he had a hard time all weekend studying.) He had a midterm tonight, that he spent the majority of today studying for. <sigh> I told him that if he wants to play soccer, and hang out with his friends he has to get his homework done first! (I feel like his mother, but sometimes his ADD just takes control.) </sigh>

The last week or so Daniel has been able to show our house 2-3 times. Which is good. It means people are interested in renting, and that we may just get out of here when we planned. At the same time I'm still having a hard time, I like my house, and it will be weird to have other people living in it for a while. BUT with our current income, and all the effort we're putting into school we just don't have the means to stay in our house, unless we want to go bankrupt. (Sounds SO scary.)

...Now it has melded into Tuesday morning...

I had crazy freaky dreams last night about how some of my family members didn't like me anymore, and how my Aunt was moving away to to California (the Bay Area specifically in my dream.) Totally weird!

Today I have a long list of stuff to do (an I guess over the next couple days since I don't have work OR school till Friday) I need to clean the house a bit, especially my room, I have a lot of reading to do for my sociology class, errands and what not. Really part of me would just like to go back to bed, (since I got terrible sleep last night) but the other part of me feels like I need to take advantage of this gorgeous day!

Speaking of terrible sleep, Saturday night I was REALLY tired, but Daniel for some reason wasn't, so he stayed up playing video games in bed. Every night before going to bed we gather both animals and make sure that they are with us for the night. Especially my cat, because if she is left free to roam the house, she'll just eat all night. Now I'm not really a cat person, I really only like a few cats, my cat, Sami's cat, and my aunts other cat. That's all. Sugarplum (that's her name) is the greatest cat EVER! If I were a cat, and she were me, we'd be the same person, my mom always said that sugarplum is me in cat form. Too true. Sunday night as I was finally getting to sleep, according to Daniel Sugarplum decided it was time to play, and so she just kept walking all over me, and rolling all over me, and purring REALLY loudly (she has one of the loudest purr's) and meowing like every fifteen seconds, and apparently I would pet her and tell her to "shh" or something to that effect. I don't remember ANY of it. But Daniel said it was pretty funny. (He told me all of this Sunday morning when I woke up and informed him that I had had the worst night's sleep of my life, he was like Ya!)

So last night and today I am thankful for my cat, and for my husband. They make my life oh so much more entertaining.

Daniel is thankful for a day off tomorrow, and doing nothing! (Me too!)

I just thought that I would show some belated Halloween Party pictures up here. I was able to help out a bit, get things ready for write night (Nov. 19) Really exciting, it's just like a giant writing workshop where the kids get to come with their parents and talk and read and write and earn some prizes. I get to dress up and volunteer (help run the room) in the Fairy Castle writing room. (YAY!) Can't wait, it's going to be awesome. Also I got to teach the piano class tonight because the original teacher was sick.

Daniel has lab class at 6 tonight, but promptly following the class I am making him take me out on a date! (woop woop) We haven't been out on a date in quite some time, both of us are so busy and exhausted at the end of the day, there just really isn't time to "go out."

Yesterday I got to go on a field trip with Mr. Wilkins and his third grade class to the Tualatin Wildlife Reserve. Very fun. I got to see lot's of birds, and nature, and walking tons, and all sorts of fun and interesting things. It was a very good day. Daniel was in school all day (and I was supposed to be... but chose not to go :) so later that night I took dinner to my bff Sami at the mall, she works at Bare Escentuals so she did some practice makeup on me. Doesn't sound that exciting but it was. Eventually Daniel came home, and we watched Gray's Anatomy. WHICH BY THE WAY, has gotten SO LAME! Not very happy with the show right now.

Today I am thankful for... My future career. Kids are awesome!

Today Daniel is thankful for... Thankful for his ADD medicine. Awesome.

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful!

I have had a stupid Christmas song stuck in my head all day! Why?! It's not even THAT close to Christmas. Sigh.

I just spent the last 6 hours writing my 2nd paper for my lame-o writing class. This time my paper was a critical analysis of the painting The Potato Eaters by Vincent Van Gogh. Hopefully this one goes better than the last. I had all day to do this paper, and instead I slept in till 9:30.. ate breakfast, did some research for my paper till about 10:30 and then went back to sleep til 12:20 pm! (ridiculous). Afterwards I woke up, did some more research (for like 20 minutes, while I also perused around online) and then began making dinner... And boy was it delicious! We had some baked drumsticks, cheesey mashed potatoes, and bread. I discovered today also that I find peeling potatoes strangely satisfying and yet really obnoxious.

Today was Daniel's day at work... So that's what he did all day. When I finally sat down to do work on my paper at about 6 Daniel cleaned up the kitchen, played video games, did some homework, and played some more video games. <rolls eyes=""> whatever!</rolls>

Today I am thankful for... My dog! because she is just SO cute and she makes me laugh.

Today Daniel is thankful for... So good to me. (What a joke. Monday's are terrible!)

Today was a really nice day outside. Nice and sunny, yet crisp and cold. My favorite kind of fall day. Daniel and I both had school today. I got my paper back from my writing class... and I got a LAME-O C! ugh. Not to happy. The paper was so stupid and difficult to do in the first place, with unclear instructions and direction. We were supposed to be critically analyzing a song, which is what I did. We were also able to use a secondary source to support our thesis, which is what I did by using the music video. When I got my paper back I was told that I should have focused more on the music video because the song was pretty self explanatory. WHAT?! <rolls eyes=""> </rolls>

I decided to go over to my parents house to hang out with my family because Daniel has school till 9 Pm :( Sad! It's fun though, it's good to spend time with my family, especially my mom cause I hardly ever see her. So FUN!

So Daniel and I have been on this rockin guitar hero kick, where all we do in the everning is play guitar hero. Should we be doing our homework, well of course... but do we choose not too... sometimes.

Choxie lately has been pulling and eating things out of the garbage. Why you ask?? At first I thought it was for getting some attention (since Daniel and I both have school and work we haven't been home A LOT, and when we are Choxie really wants to play, but then we have homework and stuff... ) So I feel really bad for her, like ALL the time, really what we need to do is get her on an exercise schedule that works into our schedule... That way she gets some exercise, and some energy out. However... tonight at my mother's house she ate a brick of moldy cream cheese out of the garbage can! <ugh> So far she hasn't thrown up yet, and she has been drinking a lot of water (which is good) poor thing. Tomorrow I will begin her exercise program. Haha. </ugh>

Today I am thankful for ... Amazing weather. I love fall, and I especially love fall in Oregon.

Daniel is thankful for ... Dave Westhora because Daniel say's he is a good friend.

Been Awhile

WOW so I really need to get better at this! (sigh)

Okay so this week was amazingly busy!

Monday: I went to school. Came home ran some errands. Then my friend Jenne came over and helped me make spooky shapes out of melted white chocolate (like spider webs and pumpkins.) It was very tricky. Melting white chocolate is like a freakin art form. The first batch we did for too long, and it got SO hot that the chocolate kept melting our plastic bags and burning our fingers. The second batch we did was perfection. The spider webs and other shapes turned out pretty awesome.

Tuesday: I spent running errands, working on homework, and making the most delicious chocolate vegan cupcakes that I have EVER had! (YUM) With delicious vegan butter cream frosting. (YUM AGAIN!) That night we had the ward trunk or treat. (Thus the reason I made the cupcakes, and the chocolate spider webs to go on top of the the night before.) My parents decorated the car with Frankenstien on top and spiders and glowsticks and all sorts of awesome things. The little kids were cute (thankfully it didn't rain). Daniel spent the entire trunk or treat (post dinner) in the car listening to the blazer basketball game.

Wednesday: I skipped my first class to stay home and make pumpkin cookies. :) I had a music midterm later that day (that I got an amazing A on... big surprise.) I had to take Daniel his glasses at school whereupon I found out that instead of doing his homework the previous night, he had watched the game, and had a paper due for Chemistry. (tsk tsk) He got in a lot of trouble. Later that night I went and got my nails done, and finished shopping for my Halloween costume with my friend Sami.

Thursday: I spent the morning and early afternoon at Buckman elementary finishing up the lesson plans for the pirate class. It was grandparents day at the school (which I thought was really cool!) Diane and I (the lady who is in charge of the after school sun program) talked about me possibly teaching Dance this coming winter term. This coming Thursday we'll hash out what I really want to teach, while I begin typing up the Pirate class, and possibly starting work on the next class...

Friday: I went to school... And then I worked all night. When I got home I started work on the bathroom. Daniel and I got to bed around 1:30, 2 am. LONG day/night.

Saturday: HAPPY HALLOWEEN and party day. I went shopping with Jenne to finish getting supplies for our party later that night. At noon I went over to a co-workers house where I got the tattoo's for my Halloween costume. (AWESOME!) (My Halloween costume was a rockstar) Ran over to my mom's house to pick up a punch bowl, and back home to finish cleaning and decorating. Sara, Daniel's sister, had come over to help, and she basically decorated the whole house herself. Ah-mazing! I made ghostly brownies, and spider web cupcakes. The Stieneckerts, Kim and Leah Richman, Sara, Sami, the Jensen's, the Bemis', and the Gomez's all came to our awesome party where we ate A LOT of dessert, told scary stories, and made homemade scary movies. It was a really awesome night. We didn't get to be till around 2:30-3 am.

Sunday: I made delicious, tasty, and amazing pumpkin pancakes. I taught my wonderful primary kids! (They make me laugh). Tonight is Sara's family dinner for her birthday. I'm taking the left over desserts to my mom at work. And I'm working on some writing homework.

Now that it's November I'm going to try and find one thing I am thankful for/about in my day. (Or week ...) So today I am thankful for my primary class, and the amazing ability they have at putting me in such a happy upbeat mood. They're sooo smart and have such sweet little spirits. It's fun being their teacher.

Okay so I promise that the upcoming week I will be better at staying on top of our lives. We shouldn't be SOO busy for awhile now that midterms are over and that our Halloween party is in the past.

So I won't lie the weekend started off pretty crappy. About two weeks ago (Oct. 7th (Happy Birthday mom!)) I took my Iphone in to Apple because since July or so my phone hadn't been able to connect to WiFi, I didn't really think much of it (obviously since I went 3 months without fixing it) but eventually got around to taking it in to have it looked at. I thought that it would be a simple fix, but apparently that just goes to show how little I know. They handed me a brand new Iphone and sent me on my way. On Thursday (Oct. 15th) we had some issues with AT&T (ugh!) and they somehow managed to to mess up my 3G network (meaning it disappeared). So Friday (Oct. 16th) I was able to get that fixed (while at work, and on my break... Oops:) AND THEN... it started acting CRAZY! So crazy that on the way home from work (which was a really long night, I got there at 5 and was scheduled till 9:30 but we didn't get out of there till like 10ish... the store was a disaster! and people make me crazy!) I almost through the darn thing out the window. It was freezing, it wouldn't let me slide to unlock the dumb thing, and then it turned itself off, and started restarting, it was insane. This continued all weekend long. The obnoxious thing about Apple is to get anything fixed, you have to call and make an appointment (which I understand, I guess, they want to be able to give you quality customer service or whatever..) So I wasn't able to get an appointment until today at 4:15, where they had to give me ANOTHER phone. (sigh) Hopefully this will be my last Iphone for a while.
Saturday started off good, I was able to go and get my hair cut, and then to run some errands for my mom since she was unable to (she worked from like 11-8 or something crazy. I also got to spend time with the Richman family (Scott, Kim, and Leah) which was fun, Daniel and I haven't seen them in a LONG time. We used to go over to there house at least once a week... and then school started. Sami, Daniel and I went out to dinner at Subway, and then later that evening Sami, Kim and I drove around for half an hour trying to find the Albertson's redbox that had our movie reserved. We watched The Proposal. (Really cute movie, Ryan Reynolds is hilarious, and the great Sandra Bullock was great as always. We didn't get home till around 1:30 or so.

Sunday was a pretty good day. I'm the CTR 5 primary teacher, and I LOVE IT! The highlight of my day was being able to see family which I hadn't seen in a long time. My Uncle Craig (or cookie cake, which is what I called him as a kid... silly) my Aunt Susie, and they're adorable daughter came up to surprise visit (just for the weekend) my Grandma. (Those of you who don't know, my grandma has been in and out of the hospital quite often these last two months... with a case of dizzy spells, Doctors still aren't quite sure what's going on) It was REALLY good to see them. I honestly think that the last time I was able to see them was my wedding, so two years ago. (They actually came up for New Years Eve 2007, but Daniel and I were in Disneyland). We ate awesome Chinese food, and just talked and played games. I really love being able to spend time with family, especially family you haven't seen in awhile. It's so crazy though, my cousin Catalina looks a lot like my cousin Amber... Who I was also able to see last night. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see either of my Aunts who live here, as one is very sick... and I'm not sure what Aunt Melanie was doing...? I'm really hoping that Daniel and I will be able to go down to California and be able to visit the Good's sometime in the near future, as it was soo good to see them, and it has clearly been to long!

Today I Daniel and I had our first midterm tests, K=Sociology, D=Chemistry. Daniel has two more this week, one in Biology and another in Economics. I on the other hand only have one, a paper due on Friday, and a music midterm next Wednesday, which will be SO easy it's ridiculous. For my master's program I have to take some required classes, and one of them is Fundamentals of Music, and it's basically a joke. (To me, not to brag but I am quite musically inclined.) I'm going to talk to the Professor during my midterm (part of it is one on one kind of stuff) and see if there is any way that I can test out of the class, and maybe stay on as a teacher's aid or something...

Well... That's basically the update for the weekend. :) Tootles.

Sigh... So today was my first day at Buckman, and boy was it kind of crazy. First of all the school is HUGE! With over 100 classrooms! I spent the better part of the day going through the pirate class and organizing the material and getting it ready so that next Thursday I can type it all up and put it in the correct format. There was tons of stuff to go through, so it was kind of nice that it was all time consuming. I am still very excited about this opportunity, and I did enjoy going through all the stuff, even though it was disorganized and crazy. It was kind of weird being an in elementary school and not helping out with the kids, but I was able to do that during the after school program where I helped in the K-2 spanish class. Little kids are very cute!
Now I'm trying to finish up my paper. <sigh> I still am struggling with the concept of this paper. I also spent the evening at my parents house helping Jamison write a paper, and hanging out with my mom and family. AWESOME times.

My grandma is being released from the hospital tomorrow (again). Apparently she just has vertigo... I dunno we shall see. Hopefully all goes better this time around.

Dinner, and Powells

Tonight Daniel and I went to Panera Bread to meet my good friend Jamie. It was delicious and fun. Now we're at home trying to delay the homework process. Which I have done successfully by cleaning my desk off, and then sitting down to blog. <sigh> Oh how I hate homework. Currently I am working on writing a critical piece on a song. Difficult? YES! How do you critically analyze and find something worthy of argument in a song, without debating whether or not the song is musically awesome or not?!
I got to spend an AWESOME day volunteering at Greenway today. I love being there, and even though I could be at home cleaning, or doing homework, there is no place that I would rather be than with all those kids. It made me feel really good too when I realized that I now know most of the kids in 2nd grade, a handful of kids in 4th, and that I'm getting to know this new 3rd grade class, because then you have all these kids that know you, and all the hugs and waves. Wonderful.

Today was a beautifully dreary Oregon fall day. ... Alright more later.
</sigh>

The beginning

OOOK! So the reason that I decided to start this blog is because Daniel and I are so busy, and we don't have a lot of time to keep people updated on our lives... And so I thought that this would be a great way to keep people informed and in the loop about what is going on with Daniel and I. Now you'll have to forgive me because as a first time blogger it may take me awhile to really get into the swing/habit of writing... But I promise that I will try and be good about staying on top of things.
Currently Daniel and I are doing well. We have decided to stay in the Griffith Park Ward, due to the fact that Daniel now has a calling. I am currently helping out in primary still (and I secretly hope to stay there...) We are both in school, and attending Portland State University. Daniel is going pre-dental, with a lot of science classes and a crazy schedule, I on the other hand am getting ready to apply to the masters program for elementary education, and am very excited to see the end in sight. I have also been offered a really amazing opportunity, I will be planning curriculum and lessons for the after school sun program at Buckman Elementary in Portland. I am VERY excited! Plus the lesson that I plan I will be able to teach during the winter term, and get paid for it! It will be a lot of fun, and look really good on my resume, and it's a nice boost to be ahead of some.

As of right now Daniel and I are living in our own home (I know... it's totally unheard of and kind of ridiculous) however we are getting ready to move in with my parents to start saving a little money, as we are both college students and have very little.

So all in all everything is going well, we are both very happy, and very much in love, and ready for all the new chapters and excitement headed our way.
